A Bipartisan report recently issued by the US Committee for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) accuses Deepseek of a number of undermining, illegal and immoral practices. Furthermore, the technical giant Nvidia also captures the author of the US government officials of delivering DeeSek with the chips needed to create the AI models.
Examination of Deepseek
The report entitled “Deepseek Unmasked: Exposure of CCP’s latest tool for espionage, stealing and teaching US export restrictions,” was published in April 2025. It charges several accusations against Deepseek, including:
- Actively suppresses more than 85% of the answers related to human rights, democracy, Taiwan or Hong Kong.
- To be owned and operated by a company with a direct link to CCP.
- Currently funnel data about US users for CCP.
- Maintaining infrastructure linked to Chinese companies using mass surveillance, data harvesting and censorship.
In addition to the aforementioned accusations, the report also connects dozens of Deepseek employees and researchers to People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the military wing of CCP.
“This report makes it clear: Deepseek is not just another AI app-it is a weapon in the Chinese Communist Party’s Arsenal, designed to spy on Americans, steal our technology and undermine American law,” said President John Molenaar (R-MI).
Deepseek has already been banned in some countries, including Australia, India, Italy, South Korea and Taiwan due to potential security concerns. Its use is also prohibited by the US Congress, NASA, and among government units within the state of Texas.
Study of Nvidia’s role
Deepseek was not the only company mentioned in the report; The technical giant nvidia also faces accusations, including:
- Delivery of Deepseek with more than 60,000 chips for the development of its platform, which may be bypassing export provisions.
- Developing a modified chip as a solution to a loophole in the rules.
Nvidia spokesman John Rizzo previously issued a statement that partly said: “We insist that our partners comply with all applicable laws, and if we receive information to the opposite, you must act accordingly”, as reported by the New York Times.
But Nvidia’s statement is not enough for the Congress Committee that accuses countries such as Singapore and Malaysia of buying chips and illegally exporting them to China. As such, the committee is asking Nvidia to provide specific details of any customer account from no less than 11 Asian countries. The committee expects Nvidia’s response within two weeks.
Waiting for a resolution
The US selected CCP Committee first began to investigate Deepseek and its rapid pace in technological development in February 2025. While their recent report includes some very serious accusations against both Deepseek and Nvidia, it is important to remember that all parties remain innocent until proven guilty.
